A romantic honeymoon on the tropical beaches of Jamaica can be heaven. It may sound extravagant, but a trip to Jamaica does not have to leave you broke. Planning a honeymoon to Jamaica on a budget is possible, if you take the right steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Confirmed reservation
  • Passports
  1. Step 1

Call Marzouca Marketing at (876) 971-3859 for discounted accommodations in Jamaica. Marzouca can book your honeymoon trip and let you know more about Jamaica. Tell them your budget and have them design a personalized package for an affordable honeymoon.

  2. Step 2

Travel on off-peak days (Sunday through Wednesday) for considerable savings on airfare.

  3. Step 3

Arrive between April 15 and December 15. During this time, hotel rates are much cheaper in Jamaica. Also, do not choose dates close to any of the ten public holidays in Jamaica as rates will be higher and destinations will be more crowded. Jamaican holidays include New Year's Day (January 1), Labor Day (May 23), Emancipation Day (August 1), Independence Day (August 6), Christmas Day (December 25) and Boxing Day (December 26), as well as Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Monday (dates vary) and Heroes Day (third Monday in October).

  4. Step 4

Stay in Negril, Jamaica. You will find it is more expensive to stay in Montego Bay or Ochos Rios, while Negril is just as nice and less expensive. Mariners Negril Beach Resort, Travellers Beach Resort and several other resorts and hotels in Negril offer budget rates.

  5. Step 5

Book an all-inclusive package. Most hotels and resorts in Jamaica offer packages, which include the hotel room, three daily meals, unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, water sports and other activities.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask for discounts. When making travel arrangements, ask for additional discounts, which may not be published.
  • Bring lightweight clothing for the warm climate in Jamaica. Pack a light sweater for evenings.
  • Do not carry large sums of cash or wear flashy jewelry. Tourists can be targets for crime.
