How to Complete Level Seven in the Original Zelda

Level Seven in the Original Zelda is more challenging for the maze than the monsters. You will need to open several walls with bombs, and retrace your steps multiple times. Even finding the entrance is a puzzle.

Instructions

  1. Preparation

    • 1

Get the Enemy Bait. It's available at a number of shops, but the one where you got the Blue Ring has the best deal.

    • 2

Make sure you have at least 100 rupees. You will need them to get more bombs.

    • 3

Return to the brown forest. Go north of the forest to the pond where there is no fairy.

    • 4

Blow the whistle. The pond will dry up and reveal the entrance to Level Seven.

    Inside Level Seven

    • 5

Go north from the entrance, then east as far as you can and get the key from the Stalfos. Return all the way west, bomb and go through the west wall. Go two doors north to get the extra bombs.

    • 6

Go two doors east of the Dodongos, then head north and bomb the east wall. Defeat the Moldorms for the key.

    • 7

Go two doors west and open the north door. Give the Enemy Bait to the Hungry Goriya and go north.

    • 8

Bomb the north wall. Bomb the east wall in the Rupee room. Then take the east door to get the key. Go back west, then south and bomb the east wall.

    • 9

Go east and beat Digdogger. Go north to bomb the east wall and defeat the Wall Masters to get to the passage.

    • 10

Bomb the east wall from the other end of the passage. Defeat Aquamentus with two bombs. Get the Heart Container and go east to get the Triforce.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Red Candle is not needed to complete the game. The only difference is that it can be used multiple times on one screen instead of just once.
