How to Make Homemade Bubbles

Summer wouldn't be summer without bubbles. Bubbles always bring out a giggle, a laugh or a scream from every kid. It's fun and they love it. Homemade bubbles are easy to make and economical. You can use them both indoors and outdoors.

      Put 4 tbsp. of liquid dish detergent into the bowl.

      Add in 1 cup of water.

      Add in 2 tbsp. of glycerin. This can be purchased at any drugstore.

      Stir the mixture well with a spoon.

      Store homemade bubbles in a container with a lid.

  • Store bubbles overnight for better performance.

  • Try different things that you can find at home to use as bubble wands such as cookie cutters, wire hangers bent into desired shapes, pipe cleaners or drinking straws.

  • To prevent the bubble mixture from stinging children's eyes, substitute liquid soap with tear-free baby shampoo or baby wash.

  • For colored bubbles, add a few drops of food coloring into the mixture.

  • Watch out for slippery floors when blowing bubbles indoors.

  • Colored bubbles may stain carpet.
