Instructions

    Using Monochrome Candles

  1. Step 1

Create a focal point by grouping several candles of the same color in different sizes. Set the grouping on top of a crystal or ceramic plate and surround them with decorative glass stones for added flair.

  2. Step 2

Line identical white candles in a row down a table or mantle for an elegant and streamlined look. Weave flowers in and out of the candles for a romantic effect.

  3. Step 3

Saturate the room with same-colored candles of all shapes and sizes. Go over-the-top, using lots of candles and placing them wherever you have free space.

  4. Step 4

Place a cluster of candles of all heights and shapes within the fireplace. This will add a unique look and feel during the months when your fireplace goes unused.

  5. Step 5

Arrange candles on top of a mirror to reflect their glowing warmth. You can also try arranging the candles in front of an antiqued mirror to reflect the light even more.

  6. Step 6

Set one large candle on an entry table and surround it with fresh greenery. Incoming guests will be greeted by this simple yet lovely arrangement.

  7. Using Multiple Colors

  8. Step 1

Choose one large, striated multicolored candle and group it with coordinating solid-colored candles of various shapes and sizes.

  9. Step 2

Hang chunky pieces of distressed wood on the wall in an asymmetrical pattern and set candles of varying colors and sizes on top.

  10. Step 3

Float several small candles in a large bowl filled with water. Add flower petals to the water, and you have a lovely centerpiece. For a really dramatic touch, add some floating candles to a tub full of water in the guest bathroom.

  11. Step 4

Make the candles the artwork by choosing a few large candles and using stencils to paint a design onto the wax. Try colorful polka-dots or paisleys. You can then add glass beads or other embellishments.

  12. Step 5

Use old chipped or unused glass stemware as candle holders. Try martini or margarita glasses for an exotic flare. Add votive candles in several colorful shades.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not float candles in the bathtub if small children are present.
  • Add a little water to the bottom of glassware to prevent scorching.
  • Monitor candles closely and never leave them unattended for too long. Always remember to blow candles out before leaving the house.
