Things You'll Need:
- Mixed Martial Arts Gear
- Training Partner
-
Step 1
Control one of the other fighter's arms. Many times if you are striking your opponent from the mount, they will put their arms up in defense. This allows for easy access to control one of their arms.
-
Step 2
Place one hand on the opponent's chest. Be sure to maintain control of the trapped arm.
-
Step 3
Push off the other fighter's chest. This will create space and allow you to rotate your hips around the trapped arm.
-
Step 4
Swing the leg on the outside of the opponent's arm over their head. This is done after you rotate your hips around the arm. Try to rotate and throw the leg over in one smooth motion.
-
Step 5
Squeeze the trapped arm with your knees and pull it towards your chest. Stay as close to the other fighter's head and shoulder as possible. If there is space then the lock will not be as tight, and it may give your opponent an opportunity for escape.
-
Step 6
Keep the thumb on the fighter's trapped arm pointed up.
-
Step 7
Thrust your hips forward. This will cause an extreme amount of pressure on your opponent's elbow and forearm area. They will either have to tap in submission or risk a serious arm injury.
