Tips & Warnings
The Marine Corps is looking for leaders above all else.
The most common commissioning source is the Platoon Leaders Course.
If you have already graduated from college then the Officer Candidate Course is the path available.
If you want to be a doctor or chaplain and work with the Marines you must do it as a Naval officer.
If you are enlisted there are ways to become an officer such as the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program which will send top performing enlisted Marines to get their Bachelor's degree.
Follow directions and do not miss deadlines.
Being in shape cannot be overemphasized.

I'm a 15 year old sophomore in high school right now. My grades are very good (im around 20th in my class which is around a couple hundred?) and im physically active and work out a lot. I've been very into reading up on a lot of information about becoming a marine, and more recently an officer. One question though- do I have to be in like, a sport? -

The Basic School teaches infantry tactics and skills to new lieutenants before they move on to their chosen field. So, yes, Marine officers are infantry officers first. -

Not all officers are infantry officers first. You start in whatever field you choose upon completion of the basic school in Quantico, VA. -
