Eating a meal at a buffet style restaurant is a great idea. Everyone can generally find something they enjoy and you do not have to wait for an order. With so many choices and no limitations on second helpings, it is hard to stop eating when the stomach says, "Whoa!" Here are some steps to help you enjoy your meal without having to roll out of the restaurant.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Drink a glass of water before, during and after your meal. This will help fill your stomach and help you avoid returning to the buffet line.

  2. Step 2

Eat regular meals throughout the day. This will help you balance your eating choices at the buffet line.

  3. Step 3

Choose the healthy options first. Look for salads, fruits and lean meats.

  4. Step 4

Use a dessert plate instead of a full-size plate. You will feel like you are getting a lot of food when the plate is full, but in reality you are practicing good portion control.

  5. Step 5

Talk to the people around you. Focus on enjoying conversation instead of consuming your food. This is a great time to develop lasting friendships and catch up on recent events.

Tips & Warnings
  • You do not have to eat everything on your plate and you do not have to go back for seconds just because it is an "All You Can Eat" buffet.
