Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Speak appropriately to your boss. Just because they may address you inappropriately doesn't give you the right to be rude in return. Use Mr. or Mrs. before his or her name, and avoid foul language or slang.
Step2
Greet your boss with a kind word. Ask about something they enjoy. Try to thank them for something such as a project or promotion they gave you, assuming they gave you something nice.
Step3
Offer to pick up something for him on your way to the file room or break room. If your boss seems busy, you should wait until a more appropriate time for this step.
Step4
Be mindful of your body language. If you seem uncomfortable or anxious around your supervisor, they will notice and will most likely point it out.
Step5
Listen to what your boss has to say. You may have heard the same story about how your coworker is better than you many times before, but if you listen closely you might gain new insight and knowledge.
Step6
Show kindness. If you see your boss in need, offer to help out. This could be as simple as getting a cup of coffee or staying late to meet a deadline.
