Halfway through the fifth day of the 7 National Parks in 7 days, you have left Lake Powell after visiting the Rainbow Bridge National Monument. You are traveling along Highway 64, a road that becomes known as East Rim Drive. Your destination is the Grand Canyon.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Make accommodations to spend the night in the Grand Canyon area well in advance to your tour. The Grand Canyon is an exceedingly popular venue.
Step2
Take a visual tour of the Grand Canyon to familiarize yourself with the park.
Step3
Continue on Highway 64, the East Rim Road, until it reaches Grand Canyon Village.
Step4
Check at the visitor center in the Grand Canyon village to see what daily activities are available and if there are any special events scheduled. The first view of the canyon can be so overwhelming that it may be worthwhile to formally review your list of park highlights so you don't miss any important ones.
Step5
Find your place of lodging where you made reservations.
Step6
Spend the following morning continuing to explore the park. Around midday, leave the park, retracing your path along the East Rim Road and Highway 64 until you reach Route 89. Turn right, south, on Route 89 towards your next destination, Wupatki National Monument.
