How to Register to Vote in Alabama
In 1995, Alabama passed NVRA (National Voter Registration Act). This act provides for three types of voter registration in the state: motor voter registration, agency-based registration, and postcard registration. Motor voter registration applies to those who are applying for their Alabama driver's license or an ID card. Agency-based registration is for those who are applying for some sort of government assistance and is available at selected office across the state. Postcard registration is just what the name implies. You pick up a postcard at various locations or download online, then send it in. Registering to vote can be done following these simple steps.
