Tips & Warnings

  • Carry a translation book with you when traveling to Spanish-speaking countries.

  • Be patient and courteous with the driver so he is more willing to get you to your destination faster.

  • Learning how to say and understand basic numbers in Spanish will help a lot.

  • Never wave down the white and green cabs because these have a reputation for not being safe. There have been reports of theft and other crimes associated with them.

  • Don't get into the taxi without first knowing where you are going. It will be hard to explain to the driver where you want to go if you cannot speak Spanish.
