How to Perform a Triangle Choke

1
Get your opponent into your guard. This will allow you to manipulate his weight and set up the triangle choke.
-
2
Pull one of the other fighter's arms across your chest.
-
-
3
Bring your leg that is on the side of you opponent's free arm over that arm and wrap it tightly over his head. This is done by swinging your leg out slightly and lifting your hips.
-
4
Grab the lower part of your shin on the leg that is over his head. Pull it down to make sure it is tight against the base of the other fighter's skull. Make sure to maintain control of the arm you trapped initially.
-
5
Swing your other leg up and over the foot of your opposite leg. This creates the triangle choke with both of your legs and the opponent's trapped arm.
-
6
Curl the toes back on foot that is over the other fighter's head.
-
7
Squeeze your knees together and push your hips up.
-
8
Pull the other fighter's head down. This will stop the flow of blood to his head and cause them to tap or pass out.

Tips & Warnings

The initial steps of the triangle choke are the most dangerous and difficult areas of the technique to perform. If you do not get your leg over the other fighter's arm, you may end up in a bad position.
