Making tissue paper flowers is an entertaining activity for children. The flowers make great gifts, straight from the heart, and your children will be proud of their works of art. Here's how to make tissue paper flowers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Colored tissue paper
  • Chenille stems
  1. Step 1

Gather the materials needed: four to six pieces of colored tissue paper for each flower, chenille stems, scissors and a ruler.

  2. Step 2

Clear a work surface large enough to spread out the tissue paper.

  3. Step 3

Stack four to six pieces of tissue paper on top of each other. The tissue paper can all be the some color, or you can use different colors for a "rainbow" flower. Let the kids choose their own colors.

  4. Step 4

Cut the tissue paper in a 5- by 7-inch rectangle. Larger sizes tend to flop over as flowers. Keep the tissue paper stacked when you are done cutting.

  5. Step 5

Fold the stack of paper on the long side in an accordion fold. Each fold should be approximately two inches wide.

  6. Step 6

Place a chenille stem in the middle of the folded tissue paper and tightly wrap about two inches of the stem around the paper.

  7. Step 7

Pull each layer of tissue paper out around the chenille stem, separating each layer until you have a beautiful flower!
