How to Make Jello Shots

Although you may associate Jello shots with wild college parties, there's no steadfast rule saying you can't have a little fun at your own party with them. Jello shots will bring back memories of the good old days for your guests. Here's how to make them. There a few things to keep in mind when making Jello shots, such as finding the right water to alcohol ratio so the shot sets and so it doesn't taste too sweet.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dixie cups or other small containers
  • Jello
  • Water
  • Vodka
  1. Step 1

    Gather the ingredients: package of Jello of any flavor, vodka, and water. 16 oz. of boiling water, 6 oz. of cold water, of Vodka and a ladle.

  2. Step 2

    Put 16 oz. of water into a pot and bring the water to a boil.

  3. Step 3

    Add the Jello to the boiling water. Wait until the Jello completely dissolves.

  4. Step 4

    Turn off the heat.

  5. Step 5

    Add 10 oz. of vodka and 6 oz. of cold water to the mixture and stir.

  6. Step 6

    Use a ladle to fill Dixie cups with the Jello mixture. Alternatively, you can use small molds in different shapes.

  7. Step 7

    Place the cups on a baking sheet or tray. Chill in the refrigerator for two hours.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make several trays with different Jello flavors for a colorful presentation.
  • The higher the proof of alcohol, the more cold water you'll need for the Jello to set.
  • Jello shots do not taste like alcohol, so monitor your consumption.
