Purchasing video games can be quite an investment, and it is understandable that you want to get as much value out of a game as possible. Sometimes it is difficult to find all of the secrets and hidden tricks in a game, and you need a little help. Video game walk-throughs are all over the place, but finding the perfect one for you may take a little work. Walk-throughs provide strategy, information about enemies, secrets, cheats and much more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide whether or not you want to pay for your walk-throughs. Several Web sites offer free walk-throughs, but sometimes sites like IGN and GameSpot, which require you to sign up for a membership, have more in-depth walk-throughs.

  2. Step 2

Use search engines. Simply type the title of the video game into a major search engine followed by the word "walk-through" to find a good, free walk-through.

  3. Step 3

Check forums on video game Web sites. Many other users may have the same questions, and if you are looking for something specific, like how to beat a certain boss, forums may provide a quicker and more concise answer to your question.

  4. Step 4

Find the sites that you like and save them. Most sites that offer video game walk-throughs have their own style, so bookmark your favorites or write them down so you can go back later for other video games.

  5. Step 5

Forget about magazines and physical strategy guides. There is a walk-through for almost every video game imaginable online, and often these guides are free. If you do have to sign up for a membership for a Web site, it is probably less expensive than a physical strategy guide, and it will have a large catalog of games instead of just one.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the terms "walkthru" and "walk-thru" when using search engines for more results.
  • Be careful about Web sites that want payment. Some legitimate sites are worth paying for, such as IGN, but several scam Web sites do not offer good content. Remember, most video games offer walk-throughs for free, and the ones you pay for are probably just more robust. Do your research before paying.
