If you wish to donate your hair, it could make a big difference in the life of a child. The minimum requirement for hair length to be eligible for donation is usually 10 inches.

Find the hair-donating guidelines for the nonprofit organization you have selected. While most organizations use similar guidelines, it's best to see if you must do anything out of the ordinary.

Wash your hair thoroughly. Avoid using any hair products since that could make your hair unusable in the donation process. Dry your hair completely.

Find a local barber or hair stylist who will follow the guidelines of the nonprofit organization that you have chosen. Most likely, the barber or hair stylist you frequent most will be able to help you donate your hair.

Package the hair you wish to donate. Follow the required guidelines, which usually include a form that you must add to your package.
