Instructions

    • 1

Gather all necessary ingredients. Visit your natural health food store for biodegradable products. Most of these items can be found in your kitchen cupboard or can be purchased at a grocery store.

    • 2

Start by adding 2 cups of water into a spray bottle. If recycling an existing bottle, make sure it is completely clean of its previous contents.

    • 3

Place a funnel in the top of the spray bottle. Add the dry ingredients one at time. First add 1 tsp. of borax, then add 1/2 tsp. of baking soda.

    • 4

Add a 1/4 tsp. of liquid soap or detergent and then 2 tsp. of white vinegar. For a lemon fresh scent, substitute lemon juice for the vinegar. Shake the bottle vigorously to mix ingredients.

    • 5

Label the outside of the bottle with a permanent marker. List all ingredients and measurements on the bottle so it's easy to refill later. It might be helpful to cover the label with clear tape to protect the ink from bleeding if it gets wet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make up a large quantity of the cleaner and store it in a larger container. Refill small bottles when necessary.

  • Use a funnel to avoid spills as you add the ingredients. Make sure to add the dry ingredients first to avoid having them stick to the funnel.

  • Even though this is a nontoxic multipurpose cleaner, you still should keep it out of reach of kids and pets.
