Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Wash the uniform with the regular inside out in warm water. Ensure you hang dry the uniform to maintain the texture of the fabric. This will enable it to be ready to iron once the uniform is completely dry.

  2. Step 2

Set up iron and ironing board. Ensure you give yourself enough room. Fill the iron with water and place it on the medium setting. The reason for placing it on this setting is that any higher heat will burn the fabric.

  3. Step 3

Align the pants on the iron board so that you make vertical creases in the center of each leg of the trousers. Make sure you press down on the iron to get a very professional crease.

  4. Step 4

Check again to ensure you have creased both side of each leg of the trousers.

  5. Step 5

Hang the trousers on a plastic clip hangar. Clip the cuffs of the trousers to the hanger making the trousers hang upside down, this will keep the trousers free of crinkles and ready to wear.

  6. Step 6

Iron shirt. Place shirt regular side out. Iron the sleeves normally while using the same setting as the trousers. When making creases in the front of the shirt, unbutton each pocket and make a crease vertically from shoulder to the bottom of the shirt.

  7. Step 7

Place three creases centered on the rear of the shirt. The left and right creases will line up on the back of the shirt with creases that were made on the front of the shirt. The center crease is formed by folding the collar and the vertical crease will be made as this center point is being used.

  8. Step 8

Place the shirt on a wooden hanger ensuring all buttons are buttoned up. Place a plastic covering over both trousers and shirt to keep the uniform free of dust and debris.

  9. Step 9

Wear the United States Navy Winter Working Blue uniform with pride, honor and dignity!
