If you don't have an ice cream maker or don't feel like using it right now, it's possible to make ice cream without an ice cream maker. It takes a bit of time waiting for it to freeze, but not much effort.

From Quick Guide: Ultimate Ice Cream Guide
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowl
  • Whisk or electric beater
  • Ice cream mix
  1. Step 1

Make whatever ice cream recipe you'd like.

  2. Step 2

Put the ice cream mix in a large bowl and let it cool down in the refrigerator for an hour or more.

  3. Step 3

Move the bowl to the freezer.

  4. Step 4

Remove the bowl from the freezer after a half an hour or so. The ice cream should be starting to get frozen on the sides of the bowl. You want it slushy but not frozen solid.

  5. Step 5

Beat the ice cream for three minutes with a whisk or electric beater.

  6. Step 6

Put the bowl back in the freezer for half an hour.

  7. Step 7

Repeat this process of freezing then beating the ice cream three more times.

  8. Step 8

Let the ice cream freeze overnight in the freezer, or at least for a few hours.

  9. Step 9

    Eat the ice cream.

Tips & Warnings
  • You don't have to freeze the ice cream in the bowl. You can transfer it to a container with a lid.
