A simple haircut for a woman is easy to do and saves both time and money.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase a pair of sharp scissors. Dull scissor blades leaves hair looking jagged.

  2. Step 2

Find an easy to clean spot for the haircut. Rooms with laminated or hardwood flooring work best. Or, if the weather is nice, go outside.

  3. Step 3

Dampen the woman's hair using a spray bottle or by running a wet comb through it. If you wash the hair first, make sure to wring out all the excess water.

  4. Step 4

Start to cut at the midpoint of the back of the woman's hair, between her shoulder blades. Gather an inch wide section of hair between the index and middle fingers of your non-cutting hand. Hold it taut and comb the hair to make sure it is even. Keep your fingers perfectly horizontal and use them as a guide to cut the hair to the correct length.

  5. Step 5

Use the newly cut section of the hair as a length guide as you continue to give this simple haircut. Gather more sections of hair and cut using the same process as in step 4.

  6. Step 6

Give the hair style a little shape. Comb all of her hair and let it rest behind her shoulders. Trim the hair so that it looks like a gentle, wide smile rather than a stark, straight line.

  7. Step 7

Check the haircut. Have her brush her hair as she would normally. Make sure the front of the simple haircut is even on both sides of her face. Check for any hairs you may have missed.

Tips & Warnings
  • To give a more tapered haircut, cut the front one to two inch sections at a steep angle on both side of her face.
  • Keep a designated pair of scissors for cutting hair.
  • Use a rain jacket or cape so that the hair will not cling to clothing.
