How to Make a Photo Gift CD Using Picasa
Photos on compact discs can be wonderful gifts for any occasion. Using Picasa's gift CD function, you can burn an entire slideshow with pictures and music to CD. Picasa makes it easy to create professional-looking CDs that family and friends will enjoy.

Import your photos to Picasa. Picasa will scan your computer and bring the pictures you have saved into its program. You can also import photos directly from your camera into Picasa by connecting your camera or card reader to the computer. Click the "Import" button and select the device you want to extract the pictures from.

Hold down the "Shift" key and select the pictures you would like to be on the gift CD.

Choose the "Gift CD" option at the top of your screen.

Pick the image size and name of the CD. Click the "Add Picasa" button.

Burn your CD by clicking the "Burn" button on the right-hand side of the page. Follow the directions on the screen to complete the process.

A Picasa 'Gift CD' does NOT have music on it! That is one desirable function, but is totally missing. If you are technically adept, it is said to be possible to copy the CD back to the hard drive, add a music file, add a call to the "autorun.inf" file and copy the lot onto a new CD. But it's probably better to put the radio on while watching the 'Gift CD'. -

how do I do that using the picasa application at friends house that does not have local copies of my images?
