Instructions

    • 1

Create a chart of the information you are putting together. The easiest way to do this is to enter the data into a spreadsheet using the appropriate column headings and rows. Highlight this data, press the "F11" key and Excel will instantly make a new worksheet with a chart of the data.

    • 2

Edit the chart as needed. To move the chart around the page, you can left-click anywhere within the chart and drag the mouse around with the button still held down. Release the button once you have found the desired location.

    • 3

Move the chart another way by using just the keyboard. Press the "Ctrl" button and click on the chart. With the "Ctrl" button still pressed down, use the arrow keys to move the chart around to the appropriate location.

    • 4

Zoom the chart in and out by keeping the "Ctrl" key pressed down and using the scroll button on your mouse. Once you have the desired view, release the "Ctrl" button.

    • 5

Enter new information into an already existing chart with the same headers. Do this by highlighting the new information, clicking on the black border surrounding the cell and dragging it over the chart. This must all take place within the same worksheet.

Tips & Warnings

  • The shortcuts may be hard to remember at first, but keep using them and they will make you much more efficient.

  • Not all mouse controls have scroll buttons, so you will not be able perform Step Four if your mouse does not have one.
