How to Plan a Trip to the Columbus Zoo
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium boasts the country's best Manatee exhibit as well as the largest snake in captivity. Each year new and improved exhibits are added, making this one of the country's finest zoos.

Park in the zoo lot and pay a nominal fee. If you prefer to take public transportation, COTA busses are available across the city.

Obtain tickets at the ticket booth and make sure to pick up a map. If you need a stroller or wheelchair, they can be rented at the entrance for a nominal fee.

Spend a few minutes sitting by the pond located near the entrance to work out a plan. Check the map for show times and work out the best route to take. Popular shows include feedings in the aquarium and meetings with the zoo keepers. If you are visiting on a weekend, arrive early for these shows.

Stop by the Congo River Market Food Court for lunch. There are a variety of food choices that are sure to please your entire family. You will also find vending carts and other small food stands throughout the zoo for snacks and drinks.

Rest your feet while you enjoy the North American Train Ride or a boat trip through the Southeast Asian Islands. Then get up close with some animals at the touch pond, the lorikeet garden or the petting zoo.

Pick up a souvenir or two from the Jack Hannah Adventure Store or the Sokoni Gift Shop.
