When looking for a delicious, healthy snack to grab on the go, and give you a quick energy boost, look toward making this easy trail mix snack. You can add more or less of certain ingredients creating a mix that suits you personally. Trail mix is also great to have around the house as a healthy snack for your kids; they'll love it and hopefully ease up on those pre-packaged snack foods.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Raisins
  • Sunflower seeds
  • M&M's
  • Mixing bowl
  • Storage container
  • Peanuts
  • Peanut butter or butterscotch chips
  1. Step 1

    Pour 4 cups of roasted, salted peanuts into a large mixing bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Add 1 cup of roasted and salted sunflower seeds.

  3. Step 3

    Toss in 3/4 cup of raisins.

  4. Step 4

    Include 1 cup of M&M's to sweeten the deal. If you have kids, this is a wonderful treat to add to this healthy snack!

  5. Step 5

    Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter or butterscotch chips to add a unique flavor.

  6. Step 6

    Stir the mix thoroughly. Store in an air-tight container and voila, it' snack time!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can always add more or less of any ingredient to adjust the trail mix to your liking.

on 9/1/2007 sounds like a good plan jeff. i like your thoughts and agree with you 100%. the only thing is that, as kids i wold imagine a couple..literally a few M&Ms in a say....12oz batch of trail mix wouldnt be too bad, hehe. cut out the crap indefinatly but they are kids =]
