    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Pesticides
    • Healthy fuschia plant
    • Fertilizer
      • 1

Make sure that there is no insect or disease damage. Check the point where the leaf meets the stem of the plant as this is a common place for insects to take up their abode.

      • 2

Hang or plant your fuschia in a semi-shaded area. They prefer cooler temperatures and not too much sun.

      • 3

Look for pests or disease. Rotate pesticides to assure you have killed off every kind of pest.

      • 4

Fertilize regularly. Every 2 weeks is a good standard. These plants need a great deal of nutrition.

      • 5

Limit watering and application of fertilizer in late summer so the fuschia plant will prepare for wintering.

      • 6

Bring inside before the first frost.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Too much sun or hot weather will weaken the plant and the flowers will not develop properly. Make sure there is adequate shade. Place basket in a cooler area if temperatures rise above 80 degrees F.
