How to Select Themed Coloring Pages

Children usually enjoy themed coloring books. There are lots of super action heroes and storybook themes to select from too, from Spiderman to Spongebob, or Blues Clues and Beauty and the Beast. The Internet offers an opportunity to find themed coloring pages as well, to either print individual pictures for coloring offline or even to make a custom coloring book made up of a series of themed pages.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Locate themed coloring pages online. The ChildFun Family website boasts being the largest source of free themed coloring pages (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Decide on a category of themed coloring pages. Categories include religion, holidays, people and places, favorite characters, nature and educational.

  3. Step 3

    Select a themed coloring page from the list provided under the category heading of your choosing by clicking on the name of the picture. Note that some pages contain more than one picture. You may select and print as many images on that page as you wish.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the image you wish to see in full view.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the full sized image to view it in printer-friendly mode.

  6. Step 6

    Right click on the large image and select "Print Picture," or use the File > Print command from your browser window menu.

  7. Step 7

    Close the window containing the printer-friendly version of the picture to return to make more picture selections.

  8. Step 8

    Note that from any themed coloring picture page you can use various buttons to navigate further, such as "Home" or to view the previous image, the next image, or even the first or last in the entire series under this category.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before you select any themed coloring pages to print, make sure there's enough paper in the printer.
  • If you're running a pop-up blocker, it may be necessary to turn it off to view the images correctly and to print them.
  • Each themed coloring page contains helpful tips on viewing and printing a picture for coloring.
  • Get more from the ChildFun Family website. The site also has an online community (including message boards and a chat room), interactive quizzes, activity pages, a newsletter and more.
  • Always supervise young children while they color with crayons, colored pencils or markers. Also make sure that the coloring tools they use are labeled as nontoxic.
