Select and Purchase Comic Books Online

  1. Step 1

Peruse the selections at an online comic book clearinghouse. Comic book clearinghouse websites have a wide selection of titles available from all the major comic book publishers. You can browse their titles and read brief descriptions of the current storylines, then order or subscribe to the comics you choose. Mail Order Comics is one online comic book clearinghouse to try (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Read reviews. Online comic book reviews are plentiful and will be of enormous value in helping you select which titles to buy. Comic Book Reviews online (see Resources below) provides links to a large number of comic book review sites on the Internet.

  3. Step 3

Try Ebay (see Resources below). Searching for comic books on Ebay will not only provide you with more choices than you could ever possibly consider, it will also give you descriptions of those comics and their storylines.

  4. Step 4

Read online comics for free. There are some quality Internet-based comics out there in cyberspace. A quick search on your favorite search engine for 'online comics' will give you a list of choices. You can then browse these choices and become a regular reader of the ones you like best.

  5. Step 5

Join a discussion group. Taking part in one of the many Internet message boards or chat rooms devoted to comic books will give you the opportunity to ask other fans about their preferences. Their recommendations may help you decide which comics you want to select.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buying one or two issues of a comic book before committing to a subscription is a good idea. This will give you the chance to see if you like the comic and if the quality of the comic holds up over more than one issue.
