Instructions

  1. Find Rare and Wonderful PEZ Dispensers for Your Collection

    • 1

Know where to look for hard-to-find PEZ dispensers. eBay is a good place to start (see Resources below). Go to their main page and type in 'PEZ dispensers' to see what dispensers are currently available for bidding and purchase. You may just find that elusive item you have been searching for!

    • 2

Attend a PEZ convention. Several of these are held each year in the United States. Dealers and collectors come together at these conventions to buy, sell and trade PEZ dispensers of all shapes and sizes. Visit the PEZ Collector's Page (see Resources below) to find out when the next convention is scheduled.

    • 3

Become an expert. Knowing which PEZ dispensers are the most rare, valuable and unique will greatly enhance your ability to put together a stellar collection. The PEZ website is a good place to start to find out what dispensers are still in circulation and which are not (see Resources below).

    • 4

Spot the old ones. In general, the older a PEZ dispenser is, the greater its value. Feet began being placed on PEZ dispensers in 1987. Any dispenser without feet was made before that date.

    • 5

Buy what you like. The main purpose of a collection is to have fun. Do not become too focused on getting only the elusive PEZ dispensers. If you see a dispenser that you love, buy it whether it is valuable or not.

Give Your PEZ Dispensers Some Space

    • 6

Display your collection. Putting up some shelves or investing in a glass case for the exclusive use of your PEZ dispensers is a great way to keep them neat and organized while showing them off to others.

    • 7

Lock up the gems. For the truly rare dispensers in your collection, it is a wise idea to keep them in a locked box or safe. This will protect them from damage in the case of fire or flood.

Tips & Warnings

  • Subscribe to the PEZ collector's newsletter at the official PEZ website for up to date information on the PEZ collecting world (see Resources below).

  • If you are collecting PEZ dispensers for investment purposes, be sure to keep them in their original packaging. The value of a PEZ dispenser, particularly a rare one, drops drastically if it is not in its original package.
