The "Snakes on a Sudoku Puzzle Book" was designed to be the official sudoku book from the movie "Snakes on a Plane." Game play is identical to traditional sudoku, which may come as a major relief to seasoned players. The main difference is definitely visual: each game is framed by several dangerous-looking snakes that are ready to attack! Over 1,500 snakes are found inside this 224-page book, which features sudoku puzzles of all difficulty levels.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snakes on a Sudoku puzzle
  • Pencil
  1. Step 1

Carefully study the entire Snakes on a Sudoku puzzle. Most puzzles have several empty boxes where only one number could logically fit. The more you practice finding these easy answers, the faster you'll get at recognizing them right away.

  2. Step 2

Spend several minutes examining each separate grid. You may find it beneficial to mark in pencil the possible numbers for each box within the grid. Once you've finished the marking the whole puzzle, you may spot several overlooked, obvious answers.

  3. Step 3

Use one of the traditional sudoku strategies to fill in even more boxes. You can try looking for identical pairs of numbers, or "naked pairs," within the same column or row. Logically, when identical numbers are present, they must go into one of the two boxes, leaving you to cross out any potential repeats in the row or column.

  4. Step 4

Start over continually with studying the puzzle and work your way through the strategies to see if any new answers have been revealed through filling in more boxes.

  5. Step 5

Look into intermediate strategies, which use patterns found in boxes on opposing sides of the puzzle to locate repetitive numbers. Similar to the concept of naked pairs, these strategies allow you to safely remove a given number from any potential boxes in the column or row in question.

Tips & Warnings
  • Write in pencil so you can easily erase any marks you've left in boxes without compromising the presence of the right answer. Using a pen may cause the puzzle to get messy and confusing.
  • If you're willing to type in the starting numbers of your Snakes on a Sudoku puzzle, you can use a special computer to provide you with hints about how to solve the puzzle.
  • Once you've managed to solve all the puzzles in Snakes on a Sudoku, you may want to look at another puzzle compilation with a movie twist, "The Sudoku Code."
