Scene-It is a DVD party game that pits players against one another in a test of television, cinema, and pop culture knowledge. The included DVD has a multitude of questions and also serves as a sort of referee to help keep the game in order. Learning to play Scene-It is easy.

Instructions

    • 1

Roll the 6-sided die to see who goes first. Play then proceeds in a clockwise order regardless of other die rolls.

    • 2

Roll the 6-sided die, as well as the 8-sided die on your turn. The 8-sided die determines the category of question you'll be required to answer, while the 6-sided tells you how far to move your game piece.

    • 3

Answer the question provided based on your die roll. In some cases, an "All Play" will be selected. In this case, each team is permitted to answer the question, not just the player or team whose turn it is.

    • 4

Continue playing and moving your piece until someone reaches the "All Play to Win" space at the end of the board. Anyone is free to answer this question, and doing so passes play to the person who answered it. However, if the person whose piece is in the "All Play to Win" space answers the question correctly, they win the game.

    • 5

Be aware that you'll be facing questions beyond those that are related to film and television. Music, sports and even music videos are all a part of the game play in Scene-It.

    • 6

Be ready to flex your knowledge of film, as some of the film related questions are very tough, dealing with more obscure movies or asking for very specific details about the clips you see (you're not necessarily going to be asked about trivia, but about some object that was visible during the clip, for example).

    • 7

Invest in a special edition of Scene-It to receive questions that are dedicated to a genre of movie (Disney, Harry Potter, et. al.) or to a television show (The Simpsons, for example). There are also expansions to the main game, like the Junior Edition or the Deluxe Movie Edition.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play in teams when there are larger groups.

  • The Scene-It DVD has some content that produces flashes on the screen. Those who suffer from epilepsy should be aware of the danger of the potential for seizures.
