How to Learn Craps Dice Control
Connoisseurs of casino craps maintain that dice control is the name of the game. Players who take dice control seriously are known as "rhythmic rollers," and many keep records of their winnings as evidence that their methods of control over the dice work. While there doesn't seem to be any conclusive proof that dice control is even physically possible, many craps fans wish to learn how to better control the dice in the hopes of improving their winnings.

1
Know that many proponents of craps dice control attempt to learn how to "set" the dice by aligning them in a certain way before they roll, in the hopes of offsetting random landings and improving the odds of certain numbers coming up.
-
2
Understand that there are three distinct elements involved when you learn how to control dice: grip, alignment and delivery.
-
-
3
Grip the dice so that there is equal pressure placed on each die and no space between them in your hand as you prepare to throw.
-
4
Align the dice so that they run parallel to the vertical axis (also known as the fore-aft axis) or the length of the table. This helps to ensure that the face of each die will make full contact against the wall surface.
-
5
Deliver the dice to the far wall of the opposite end of the table, as required by the casino rules. However, try to place a backspin on the dice by rotating your shoulder or wrist slightly so that the dice will roll on their left-right axes. This helps to reduce the impact of the throw and is meant to keep the dice together.

Tips & Warnings
Craps dice control is sometimes referred to as "dice setting" or "controlled shooting."
Keep your thumb out of the way when setting the dice.
Sweaty palms or fingers will compromise your set and delivery, so make sure your hands are dry and clean before rolling.
Many casino managers and dealers are keenly aware of players who attempt dice control at craps. In fact, it's the reason shooters are required to toss the dice against the farthest wall of the craps table in the first place.
Practice your technique before attempting dice control at the casino. Any awkward movement or handling may attract unwanted attention from dealers.
