How to Perform a Basic Kickboxing Stance
Kickboxing incorporates a lot of different moves and combinations of moves, but the basic stance never changes. The front and side fighting stances are the basic beginning positions for all the other movements. After every movement, you will always come back to this stance, ready for the next one.

Keep elbows bent at 90 degrees with your fists in front of your chin.
Place your feet shoulder width apart with the lead toe pointing at a slight angle out and your weight evenly distributed over both feet. -

Tighten your abdominal muscles and lean slightly forward without tilting your pelvis.

Rotate slightly to perform a right or left hand fighting stance, with feet diagonal, lead toe pointing forward and rear toe pointing outward.

Stay light on the balls of the feet and let the entire leg act as a shock absorber

Tips & Warnings
Never lock the knees or elbows. Stay fluid, do not arch or round your back and always keep the abdominal muscles tight and in control.
