How to Sew a Daisy Patch on a Uniform

Daisy Girl Scouts girls love to run and play when they are wearing their uniforms. The patches can become loose and even fall off. To prevent this, Daisy Girl Scout patches should be sewn on securely. With their patches attached, the little Daisy can be as active as she wants without worrying about her uniform.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather all the patches you wish to sew on the uniform.

    • 2

Lay out the Daisy Girl Scout tunic on a flat surface. Try to get all of the wrinkles out which may require some ironing.

    • 3

Arrange the patches on the uniform where you want them to go. Some Daisy patches have specific places on the uniform. Check with your Girl Scout troop leader or online at the Girl Scout website for all the information on patch placement.

    • 4

Use masking tape or roll clear glue onto the back of the patch to hold it temporarily in place.

    • 5

Sew on the patch using a clear tread. A zigzag stitch works really well. Backstitch over the beginning and end to hold the thread tight. Repeat the process for all of the patches.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use uniform-colored thread in the bobbin if you don't have enough clear thread.

  • When using glue to temporarily hold the patch in place before sewing, use just enough to hold the patch. Too much glue can make a mess on the uniform.
