Classic car clubs are dedicated to the preservation, restoration, exhibition and enjoyment of classic cars. Enthusiasts join clubs to exchange information about classic cars and take part in events and exhibitions. There is no general definition of what makes a car classic, but most enthusiasts agree that cars over 25 years old can be considered classics. However, what legally makes a car eligible for antique vehicle registration varies from state to state.

    Research classic car clubs. There a literally hundreds of classic car clubs in the United States. Find listings for clubs in your area by searching on the Internet.

    Select a club and apply for membership. Restrictions on membership vary from club to club. Some classic car clubs require ownership to join, while other admit all enthusiasts.

  3. Step 3

    Pay membership dues. Most classic car clubs have annual dues, ranging from $20 to $200 per year, though membership to some clubs is free or on a donation-only basis.

  4. Step 4

    Attend club events. Classic car clubs hold appreciation car shows and museum exhibits throughout the year at various locations.
