Step 1
Travel by bus or car 30 minutes north and west from Cork. There is regular bus service from Cork. If you drive, there is a parking lot located near the castle. There will be a small fee to park.

Step 2
Arrive in Blarney and visit the tourist office located near the bus stop. You may also want to visit the Blarney Woolen Mills flagship store which is also located near the bus stop.

Walk a short distance to the castle. You will have to climb the stairs in order to kiss the Blarney Stone. While in the castle, be sure also take note of the other features in the castle including the dungeon.

Step 4
Venture to the Rock Close, which is a rock garden that is thought to be the remains of a Druidic settlement. Here you will see a sacrificial alter, wishing steps and a Druid cave amongst other things. Be sure to admire the aged and somewhat magical trees which give you the feeling of being in a fairy tale.

Step 5
Tour the Blarney house, which has a collection of furniture and art.

Picnic on the grounds and enjoy the amazing gardens which abound here. You may also see the herd of cattle which graze amidst the landscape.

Step 7
Finish your trip to the Blarney Castle with a hike around Blarney Lake. You will be able to see the resident swans as well as other wildlife. The walk takes about 30 minutes.
