How to Travel Route 66 by Motorcyle

Before there were major highways, people traveled from coast to coast on Route 66. You still can today, even by motorcycle! Here are some simple steps to go from Chicago to California traveling on Route 66 on a motorcycle.

Things You’ll Need:

• Major credit cards and money
• Valid motorcycle operator's license
• Maps or city guides

1. Create a trip plan.
2. Get city guides to help with sightseeing ideas or for planning overnight accommodations.
3. Search the internet for locations that might interest you and make those stopping points.
4. Start your trip in Chicago, Illinois.
5. Get on Route 66 heading west.
6. Head towards Missouri and then on through the next states, consecutively: Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.
7. Finish up in California.

• Don't forget your camera.
• The same trip can be made reversing the directions and going from California to Chicago.
