Being one of the top wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon has its fair share of visitors. Separate yourself from the others by taking an off-road tour of the Grand Canyon. Read on to find out how you can take a tour of the Grand Canyon on an off-road motorcycle.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Riding gear
  • Valid motorcycle license
  • Valid health insurance

Step1
Find out more about the Adventure Motorcycle Tours touring company, also know as AdMo-Tours, at (760) 249-1105 or on their Web site (see Resources, below).
Step2
Pick the dates for your tour. Tours of the Grand Canyon run all year long. There is a mini tour and an extended tour of the Grand Canyon. Extra days can be added to either tour.
Step3
Select an off-road motorcycle or dual sport bike to rent, if necessary. You can bring your own dirt bike, but it must meet the standards of the touring company. The mini tour is completely off-road riding. The extended tour is partly off-road and partly on roads.
Step4
Ask about travel arrangements to and from Las Vegas. If you choose this option, your tour will begin and end in Las Vegas.
Step5
Finalize the reservation for your Grand Canyon off-road trip. Make sure your personal information is accurate. Place your deposit.

Tips & Warnings

  • You must know how to operate a dirt bike. This tour is only for experienced riders. Be prepared to ride for long periods on curvy, gravel roads.
  • You can bring your own bike, but it must meet the tour company's standards.
  • A deposit is required for each rider. Discounts are available for single bookings with five or more riders.
  • Services include dirt bike rental, qualified tour guides, gas, snacks, some dinners and some breakfasts, a support vehicle for luggage transportation, hotel services and route information.
