How to Set Up New Internet Service

If you are able to access the Internet already, but would like to establish new Internet service with a separate company, you can easily do so online through most Internet service providers. Here are some simple steps to follow.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  1. Step 1

    Locate the Internet provider's Web site address.

  2. Step 2

    Find the "buy now" or "order online" key and click on it.

  3. Step 3

    Submit your address to verify that service is available in your area.

  4. Step 4

    Browse through their packages.

  5. Step 5

    Find and click on the package that fits your needs, or design your own if possible.

  6. Step 6

    Enter the personal information requested, including name, phone number and current e-mail address.

  7. Step 7

    Read through and agree to the terms and conditions page.

  8. Step 8

    Enter any other information requested.

  9. Step 9

    Confirm that your personal information and new Internet package are correct.

  10. Step 10

    Set up an installation time and date for a DSL or cable connection. Some Internet service providers will send the products to you if you feel comfortable enough to set it up yourself.

  11. Step 11

    Print out a summary of your order for your records. A representative will contact you for further information if needed.

  • Don't forget to accept the terms and conditions when prompted.
  • If you have any questions, call the Internet service provider directly.
  • A service technician should call prior to the installation.
