How to Create a Picture Movie Using Picasa

Picture movies are a great way to store and display your favorite pictures. Creating picture movies in Picasa can be fun and easy. Picasa is a free photo editing program created by Google. Turn your favorite pictures into a movie you'll want to share with everyone.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Digital or scanned pictures
  • Picasa
  • Computer with Internet access
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Google Web site and download Picasa by clicking "Download" and following the directions.

  2. Step 2

    Import your pictures into Picasa. The program will actually locate and categorize pictures already on your hard drive. If you need to, connect your camera or memory card to your computer and import more pictures. Once the device is connected to your computer, you will need to select it and click "Import."

  3. Step 3

    Choose the pictures for your movie. For a specific picture order, hold down the "Shift" key. For any order, hold down the "Control" key.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the "Create" tab in the top toolbar. Select "Movie" from the drop-down menu.

  5. Step 5

    Choose the movie's settings. Picasa will bring up a series of windows with options to choose from. Set the time delay between the pictures and the movie's size by selecting the appropriate option from the pull-down menu.

  6. Step 6

    Pick a movie compressor or choose to have the movie play in full screen mode.

  7. Step 7

    Save your movie to your computer or CD. Click the "Save" button and follow the directions on the screen.

Tips & Warnings
  • To burn a CD on your computer, you must have a CD burner.
