Instructions

    • 1

Buy your airfare to Maui. If you plan ahead, you can get great rates. Go at a bit of an off time, and you'll save even more. Summer is great, but gets very warm. Winter is also nice, but be prepared for a little rain. It's actually enjoyable.

    • 2

Book your lodging. Where to stay depends on the experience you want. If you really want to be pampered (and don't mind paying for it) stay at the Four Seasons Maui. It's amazing. If you want more of a local feel, rent a vacation rental house. Great areas to stay are Makena, Wailea, Sprecklesville, or Kuau.

    • 3

Pack lightly. You'll need several bathingsuits, shorts, dresses, and flip flops. You can always buy things there if you don't have enough.

    • 4

Arrive in Maui and soak in the sunshine and fresh air. Relax. Go swimming and chill at the beach. Forget all your worries! You can go snorkeling if you like.

    • 5

If you want to go out at night, there are plenty of amazing restaurants (Roy's, Hula Grill, Mama's Fish House). You can also find your way to many bars and even go dancing.

    • 6

Repeat steps 4 and 5 each day you are there. Once the vacation is up, head home with your pictures ready to show off to friends. You can even gloat a little about your new tan.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can sometimes find great airfare on comparison sites like www.kayak.com or www.sidestep.com

  • Makena beach is a beautiful white sand beach to enjoy

  • A trip to Hana is a long drive, but it's beautiful once you get there. Swim in the natural pools.

  • Spend some time shopping in the boutiques in Paia. While you're there, you'll also love a coffee from Anthony's Coffee.

  • Always keep your car locked when it's parked, and don't keep valuables in it (especially in touristy areas)

  • Never turn your back on the ocean and be careful in the waves
