Planning your wedding is both wonderful and stressful. Your wedding attendants play a big part; it's customary to present gifts to your attendants at the rehearsal dinner. But how do you do it? Here are some suggestions.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what type of gift you will be giving to your attendants. Though it's customary to give the same gift to everyone in the bridal party and to all of the groomsmen, you are free to give the gifts that you choose.

  2. Step 2

Set a budget for the gifts that you will be buying for your attendants, and stick with it when you make purchases. This is especially important if you are planning to give different gifts; otherwise there may be hurt feelings.

  3. Step 3

Plan when, during the rehearsal dinner, you will be presenting the gifts; schedule in the time so that it doesn't interfere with the meal but will not be so late in the event that your attendants are ready to go home and get rested.

  4. Step 4

Figure out what you'll say when you present gifts to your attendants. You may choose to give one toast, or you may say something personalized to each attendant.

  5. Step 5

Present the gifts at the rehearsal dinner when the time is right.

Tips & Warnings
  • There is no wrong way to present gifts to your attendants at your reception: just be sure the gifts are wrapped and that the presentation is heartfelt.
  • If you decide to give different gifts, be sure that they all are - when at regular price - in the same price range. While you may think that getting a deal on a gift and spending the same amount makes it equal, your attendants may know what the gifts are worth: Giving gifts to your attendants is a symbol of gratitude, don't let it cause hurt feelings.
