How to Ping Technorati With a Blog RSS Feed

Technorati is a website that offers updated blog services. By pinging Technorati, you allow them to update your content to their website, allowing anyone who uses their services to search and find topics relevant to your blog content. This way you get more visibility, which can drive more traffic to your blog. Pinging them is easy if you follow the steps below.

  1. Step 1

    Navigate to the Technorati website.

  2. Step 2

    Scroll down to the very bottom of the page. Look for the "Ping Us" link and click on it.

  3. Step 3

    On the next page, enter the URL of the blog RSS feed and click the "Ping" button.

Tips & Warnings
  • By adding http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping into your blog's configuration, you can ping Technorati automatically.
  • By clicking on the ping configurations link on the page where you entered your URL, you can choose different tools to work with.
  • To ensure proper entry of the URL, use the copy/paste method to avoid any problems.

on 3/15/2009 I understand I can get my blog to ping Technorati automatically by inserting this line: http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/pingI use a weebly platform... does anyone know where it should be inserted? Should it be pasted into a HTML box on the main page?
