How to Name Podcast Audio Files

Naming your podcast audio files is essential. It allows listeners to know who the podcast was created by and the Web site they can visit if they enjoy the podcast and want to listen to more. Your ID3 tags are where you add all this information before uploading it to the Internet. This will help your listeners keep track of your podcasts without losing them in their library.

Instructions

1. Locate the podcast audio file you wish to edit. When you find it, right-click on it and go to Advanced Tag Editor.

2. In the Advanced Tag Editor, there will be entries that are necessary and others that are optional.

3. Click "Title" and add the title of your podcast (necessary).

4. Click "Artist" and add the artist or band of the podcast (necessary).

5. Click "Album" and insert the URL of the Web site where your podcast is listed (necessary).

6. Click "Year" and enter the year that the podcast was originally released or re-released (optional).

7. Click "Genre" and add the genre of your podcast.

8. Click "Comments" to add any additional information (optional).

9. When you are finished, click "Save." Your podcast is now ready for uploading and distribution.
