How to Clean Costume Jewelry & Stones
You will be able to clean most costume jewellery easily by doing a few things and using products you have around the house Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- toothbrush/soft
- polishing cloth such as chamois
- 1 - 2 very small drops of dish soap
- small bowl
- J Clothes
- Paper Towels
Instructions
-
-
1
fill bowl halfway with warm water and 1 drop of liquid dish soap. You may find you'll need the extra drop by how easily the jewellery comes clean.
-
2
put jewellery in bowl and let soak 10 - 20 minutes. Do NOT leave any longer than that.
-
-
3
After 10 minutes take jewellery out and use j cloth to clean. Should you find hard to reach places or caked on grime, use the toothbrush gently to get into those hard to reach places and also help brush away the extra grime.
-
4
Let dry with paper towel. When dry, polish to a brilliant shine with the chamois cloth.

I heard you could also let the jewelry soak in denture cleaner (Polident or other). But maybe that's more for gold jewelry.... -
