if you won't be at your computer you can set the priority to

Your Torrent will usually take some time to get going, don't be alarmed when it says 48 days, if you have enough seeders and a good connection it will finish within 24 hours, but expect atleast two days from most torrents

Note: if set to high priority it will slow down your computer significantly, so only do this when you won't be using it.

  5. Step 5

Once your file is completed it will be sent to the location you specified, You will need winzip or winrar, (links included below)

    * Open the .rar or .zip and locate file and extract.

    * If you downloadeda program, look for the .iso or other extension and extract.

  6. Step 6

    * If you downloaded a movie or Tv show you will now have a viewable .avi or other media extension and you're ready to go

    * If you downloaded a program you now must mount the .iso or other extension with Daemon Tools

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to have more Seeds over Leechers
  • Disable your firewall (this is a peer 2 peer program so it is nessesary to have ports open for traffic.

on 6/30/2007 Downloading copyrighted materials can bankrupt you or your parents if you get sued. Keep in mind if you download illegal stuff you will likely find yourself infected with a virus or in court. If you don't pay for something that costs money to own you are stealing. :) BitTorrent is a great program and there are other clients like BitTornado that work even better. The aside the technology behind torrents is a fascinating approach to distributive computing. Downloading a Knoppix iso's is an example of good use of torrents.
