Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- ground beef
- 1 red onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- fresh cilantro
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper
- white flour
- olive oil
Step1
Chop your cilantro and onions.
Step3
Mix meat, onions, garlic, cilantro, battered egg, salt and pepper all in a big bowl.
Step4
Take big spoonfuls of the mix and roll into small balls that you then lightly roll in the flour so they are covered with it.
Step5
Heat your pan with 3 spoons of olive oil and put your meat balls to cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes depending on how you like you meat.

on 6/4/2007 Good point. The traditional recipee does use mint. I'm a big cilantro afficionado...so I took some liberties. It's a nice version too, you should try it ;-)

on 6/2/2007 I find it interesting that you don't use spearmint. Most Greeks put spearmint in it, but I can see how cilantro would work as a twist on the classic recipe - it has that clean flavor. I used to make these with my yiayia - Now I know when mine are well seasoned by the way they smell, I've made them so often.
