Prevention is always better than cure and this holds true for our vision. All desire healthy eyesight. So take preventive measures to retain better eyesight. Here is how to prevent vision loss:

Step1
Consume diet that is rich in vitamin A, minerals and zinc. It prevents vision loss. It even delays age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Step2
Quit smoking. It reduces the risk of vision loss. A study shows that people who smoke have 7 times more risk of vision loss.
Step3
Wear protective goggles and hats whenever you step out in sun. It would save your eyes from direct exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Step4
Protect your eyes while dealing with power tools, swimming, skiing or doing any other sports activities that require protecting the eyes. Wear specific goggles that area available in the market.
Step5
Get regular check-ups from your eye specialist, especially in case of diabetes and blood pressure problems.
Step6
Wash eyes regularly with cold water (not ice chilled). When your eyes feel tired do palming, put cucumber, potato or chamomile tea bags on your eyes.
Step7
Avoid watching TV for longer hours on regular basis.

  • Include green leafy vegetables in your daily diet.
  • Maintain normal body weight. Exercise regularly, especially eye exercises to improve blood circulation.
