How to Clean Chrome Wheels
An important part of proper car care is keeping the wheels clean and free from brake dust and road grime. Following are some tips on how to restore even the dirtiest chrome wheels to their original brightness.

- Water hose
- Chrome cleaner
- Sponge
- Wax
- Water
- Auto wash shampoo
- Wheel polish
- Bucket

Determine that the wheels are, in fact, made of chrome and not polished aluminum. Chrome does not tarnish and only pits if it is beginning to rust.

Rinse the wheels with clean water. Use a hose with a sprayer attachment for the best results.

Sponge-clean the wheels with a mixture of auto shampoo and water.

Rinse the wheels again with clean water.

Spray chrome wheel cleaner on any remaining stubborn spots, lightly scrub and rinse.

Rub on wheel polish after cleaning. Buff to bring out the shine.

Apply a thin layer of wax. Dust and dirt will stick to the wax instead of the wheel, making future cleanings easier.
