Step 1
Enjoy a 7-mile ride on a beginner path. A shuttle will take you from Sundance to South Fork, where you will ride on a paved trail along the Provo River. The trail weaves through Provo Canyon just a few minutes from Sundance. Pass by Bridal Veil Falls and take in the spectacular views of the canyon.
-
Step 2
Brush up on your biking skills in a mountain biking clinic. You'll find classes for the beginner to the advanced, from basic bicycle safety and mountain biking techniques to something much more challenging. Classes are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and it's a good idea to make advance reservations. Call (801) 223-4TIX for tickets.
-
Step 3
Familiarize yourself with the trails at Sundance before you arrive. Download trail maps at the Sundance Resort Web site. Plan your rides according to your skill level. Don't forget to bring your map with you on the day of your ride.
-
Step 4
Test out your speed skills in a mountain bike race. Sundance hosts races for riders of all ages and skills. The Sundance/Soldier Hollow Race series is held weekly through the summer. Weekly raffle prizes and awards for finishers make this race series competitive and fun. Check the Sundance Web site for race schedules.
-
Step 5
Rent a bicycle if you don't have one or are in the market for a new bike. Sundance Mountain Outfitters offers bicycles with the latest technology. These bicycles are designed to give the biker more comfort and control. They are fully suspended, making for a much easier ride. The rental fee includes helmets.
-
Step 6
Download and fill out a waiver form before heading to the mountain. All riders must fill out a waiver before participating in any biking events on the mountain. Remember to bring your helmet with you. They are required for all riders at Sundance.
