How to Set up a Chores Schedule With College Roommates
Chores are generally not something that most people enjoy doing, especially when you're in college and have the priorities of classes and schoolwork to worry about. Nevertheless, they must be done. Creating a chores schedule with your roommates for all of the necessary domestic duties will help ensure that the work gets done.

Make a list of the chores that need to be done and how often they need to be done. You and your roommates may not agree about what chores need to be done on a regular basis, so talk about it together and come to an agreement.

Assess your school and work schedules to determine when everyone will be available and willing to clean. You want to be realistic about when work will get done so that each person actually does their part. If one roommate can only do their chores in the evening or early morning, don't assign that person the vacuuming.

Decide whether you and your roommates want to be responsible for doing the same chores every week or if you want to rotate. You can also divide up the cleaning according to rooms in the apartment, such as kitchen, bathroom and living room.

Create a spreadsheet for each week. Make a column for the chores, a column for who will do each chore, and a third column for the date or time that the chore needs to be completed by.

If you will rotate chores each week, move each person's name to the next chore on the list each week so that everyone is doing a different chore every week.
